Electric Uke

St. Vrain STEM Mentorship Program
Spring 2017

I will be working with a middle-school educator and mentoring students in an elective course called Music from Scratch in which students learn to create music at the computer.

CU Science Discovery Maker Academy
Summer 2016

I co-taught a three-week summer camp to thirteen high school students covering a range of topics including an introduction to programming via Arduino and the basics of circuits and electricity. All students received kits with an Arduino and numerous components, and classes were organized to challenge and engage the students with alternating hands-on tutorials, problems to test knowledge, and free work sessions to work on creative projects.

Music Tech Workshop with El Sistema
Spring 2016

I worked on a team to develop a two-hour curriculum and programming environment for introducing middle and high school students to computer science through making music. We ran a user study and initial workshop with two students from El Sistema Colorado, an organization dedicated to empowering children through intensive music lessons.
